One Very Innovative Kitchen Cabinet

Custom crafted cabinets make way for smart storage in our Tribeca kitchen pantry. The stained cabinets are made using rift cuts, these cuts highlight the woods long, vertical grain lines in order to keep with the clean and simple look of the kitchen.

A matching door pull in the same stain keeps a sense of unity within the piece and really brings a custom feel to the cabinet, seen here.

Bringing in the Big Guys

It was an early morning for our guys - 5:30 a.m. to be more specific - since some large items for our Tribeca project needed to be craned into the apartment through the window because they wouldn't fit up the stairs!

Here the over sized Restoration Hardware mirror is loaded for take off...

And safely in the apartment, whew!

The huge kitchen island stone was among the other big pieces being carted up...

And in.

Now the stone waits to be installed and fitted onto its base.

And after a hard days work, craning, working, and installing - the beautiful counters are in!

Feild Trip to the Wood Shop

We visited the mill-work shop today to make some final decisions on some custom pieces for the entryway of our ongoing Tribeca project.

The custom pieces include an entry cabinet and bench, which are designed to carry on the design of a custom made light fixture, also for the entryway, rendered here.

The entryway cabinet features a "cat door" to a hidden litter box, seen here on the right side; as well as storage, on the left side.

Paul measures and draws on the precise locations of the metal inlays, which house raised handles in spots and will run horizontally along the piece in balanced but interesting places.

A close up of the corner detail highlights the simple but intricate design of the metal inlays which mimic the lights lines in both style and dimension.

Here Sasha and Paul work together to measure out the placement of handles for the bottom drawers of the bench unit.

A full view of the entryway bench lends to its clean lines. The piece will be completed with the metal inlays as well along with a cushioned bench top. We can't wait to see the finished product!

Kitchen Installation

The kitchen cabinets are being installed at our Tribeca kitchen. The space is really starting to take shape. If you remember those cool Bocci pendant lights we featured before, those can be seen here- installed and covered for protection.

We're getting into the punch list phase over at our Hudson St project.

Custom closet interiors are being installed throughout.

The laundry room cabinets are in, as well as appliances.

And the mudroom cabinet unit is in and ready for its finishing touches.
