Curved Door Allure

You might remember the curved Walnut doors from our Hudson St project in 2009... They were completed by subcontractor Thomas Duffy of Laser-crafts, a company specialized in curved doors.

We have worked with them many times before and will continue to utilize their unique artistry in future projects when necessary.

He just forwarded these pictures from a recent residential project in New Jersey featuring his stunning, custom curved doors.

We are proud of the high level of both skill and precision of the people we work with, and believe this is a great example of his amazing capabilities. Check them out.

Millwork Update

I stopped by the shop to check on a couple pieces in progress and of course say hello to their friendly shop mascot Pablo.

This is one our guys cutting some blocking

Here is the custom made modular dresser and shelving unit for the teenage boy's room at our Tribeca project, ready and waiting to go to the job site.

And here it is installed. There is a coordinating unit which will go behind the bed for added storage that also acts as a unique headboard piece.

Happy Holidays!

It's been a very busy year here at Artistic License and we've been hard at work! Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

What a novel idea...who would have thought cinder blocks could look this good.

More Bathroom Progress

It's starting to look like a bathroom at our Tribeca project. We built up from the vanity with storage on both sides and room for a mirror which will be installed in between. The counter-tops are in and along with some vessel sinks (however, we have decided to look for deeper sinks since these seemed too shallow), so stay tuned for final updates!

This is a close up of the stone used for the counter-top of the vanity.

Table Matters

Tribeca is moving along as we measure and plan for the placement of the dining table. We chose to align it with the window, making sure everyone has plenty of space to sit around it comfortably. Don't worry the real table will look much better!

This is also helpful in figuring out the placement of the chandelier which we featured last month.

Have a look at this video of our guys dumping some construction debris at a dump site in Brooklyn, that you might not even know is there.

Our guys dump so much stuff here they know the crane operator, hence the crane coming towards us in the beginning of the video! You might be wondering what's with all the lifting and dropping of debris? This is actually part of the process which not only breaks up the junk but also separates its on its own, mostly according to material weight, these are then categorized into different piles.
